Love looks like mutual respect. It reminds us that there’s more to life than our caprices and that a lot of what we do is rooted in this concept of love for others. While there are different types of love, Eros and Philia to name a few, love manages to color our lives with so much more meaning and purpose. That is Lesney’s philosophy on love and this is our mission here at Falling BLK In Love.

Falling BLK In Love represents love on the individual level that then expands out to the community. It addresses the “nihilistic threat” Dr. Cornell West highlighted in 1994 while aiming to transform how we choose to find love today. A major proponent of understanding and operating in our love languages, Lesney recognizes quality time as the expression at the top of her list. She realizes that loneliness is a widespread ailment that could partly be addressed by intentionally doing life together with others.

In addition to her work with Falling BLK In Love, Lesney is the co-founder of Elgin Real Estate and Development and is a major contributor to Healing Gilead, an e-commerce site geared toward health/wellness through the power of teas, spices, aromatherapy, and supplements.

Yet Lesney knows that it is love that makes the difference.  “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” – Corinthians 13:13

When there’s a chance to add value and change lives, Tamasia jumps at the opportunity! She sees Falling BLK in Love as a way to help people live the love life of their dreams by changing the narrative around meeting new people, building relationships and falling in love.

Tamasia’s philosophy on love is simple. First like, then love. She believes you have to first like the person you are with, build a friendship and love will grow and sustain, especially when times get difficult. Falling in love and staying in love is hard work, but having a friend first makes it awesome.

A huge advocate for the power of love languages when building and strengthening a relationship, her top love languages are quality time, acts of service and physical touch. She believes that once you know and understand how people receive and give love and affection, we can build a strong foundation for lasting love.

In addition to her work with Falling BLK in Love, she is the founder of Curvylista Fitness, LLC. a boutique group fitness studio for women; the Executive Director of The Pearl Club, an organization who’s mission is to educate, empower and support young women to overcome poverty and consults with entrepreneurs to help launch their businesses.

In her spare time, you can catch her at the gym, traveling the world, at the movies or reading a book.
